It’s Graduation Time!

“Graduation Cap Recipe”

This time of year makes me think of all the graduations that are taking place at high schools and colleges. So, in the spirit of your soon to be graduate, I thought I would share what I made for my daughter’s graduation. It is a chocolate graduation cap!

You will need:

A bag of Reese’s peanut butter cup miniatures—these will be the base of the cap.

Ghirardelli chocolate squares (a few bags) I used Milk & Caramel—these will be the top of the cap.

A box of Fruit Roll-Ups (in the color of your grads school if possible)—these will be the tassel

Peanut Butter—this is used to “glue” all the pieces together

First decide how many you would like to make. You will then need to read how many chocolate squares come in a bag and decide how many bags you need to buy. You should have plenty of peanut butter cups and Fruit Roll-Ups, however you may want to read the bag count to make sure.

Next, you simply unwrap your peanut butter cups, chocolate squares, and one Fruit Roll-Up. Slice or cut the Roll-Up in a thin strip. Then roll it and cut into pieces about an inch or two. You can try to feather the one end to look like the wisps of the tassel. (You will want it long enough to look like a tassel)

Assemble in the following order:

Turn peanut butter cup upside down and put a small dab of peanut butter on now what is the top. Take chocolate square and place lightly on top of square and gently press to “glue” the two pieces together. Finally, take tassel and gently push onto the top of the square.

There you have a chocolate graduation cap! Feel free to experiment with different flavors of cups and chocolate. Let me know how your graduate likes them. Congratulations to your special graduate.
